Recently, Mindray Medical’s new obstetric & gynecological ultrasound AI medical device received its registration certificate, marking another significant breakthrough in the field of full-stack panoramic intelligent ultrasound solutions. This system covers the entire workflow—including imaging, scanning, measurement, diagnosis, reporting, and quality control—and is widely applicable across multiple obstetric and gynecological clinical areas such as obstetrics, gynecology, reproductive health, pelvic floor disorders, and breast examinations, thereby providing clinicians with innovative intelligent diagnostic support.
Innovative Early Pregnancy AI Technology: Smart Planes OB1
Addressing the clinical challenges posed by the subtle fetal structures and the difficulty in acquiring standard views during early pregnancy screening, Mindray has introduced the early pregnancy AI intelligent detection technology—Smart Planes OB1. Based on three-dimensional early pregnancy ultrasound data, the system automatically reconstructs six standard early pregnancy views using AI algorithms and performs corresponding automatic biological measurements. This approach not only improves the acquisition rate and image quality of standard early pregnancy views but also effectively reduces clinical technical challenges, facilitating early screening of fetal structural systems and advancing the prenatal screening timeline.
Systematic Screening for Mid-to-Late Pregnancy and Detailed Fetal Heart Examination
In the realm of systematic screening for mid-to-late pregnancy and fetal heart examinations, Mindray leverages big data and deep learning techniques by employing the COSDM cascade obstetric key structure recognition engine. This technology achieves intelligent identification, storage, and quality control of obstetric views. The solution supports the acquisition of up to 53 standard views, fully complying with both domestic and international clinical guidelines while also accommodating personalized detection requirements. Combined with the exclusive X-Pad touch control interface, it provides a seamless intelligent interactive experience, effectively reducing the duration of Level III obstetric screening by an average of approximately 10 minutes and cutting down over 300 single-key operations. In addition, it automatically associates obstetric protocols and monitors quality control in real time, substantially reducing the risk of missed views.
Customized Solutions for Fetal Spine and Cranial Evaluations
To address the specialized evaluation needs of the fetal central nervous system, Mindray has developed customized solutions for both fetal spine and cranial assessments.
- Fetal Spine Evaluation: Utilizing deep learning to process three-dimensional volumetric ultrasound data of the spine, the system automatically identifies key spinal structures. It enables intelligent segmentation imaging of the vertebral arch and vertebral body and automatically localizes the conus medullaris. This provides clinicians with an efficient and precise evaluation tool while reducing the risk of missed diagnoses.
- Fetal Cranial Evaluation: A novel AI algorithm automatically segments three-dimensional ultrasound volumetric data of the fetal cranium to accurately calculate intracranial volume. When combined with UMA ultramicro blood flow technology, it also enables quantitative analysis of fetal cranial microvascular perfusion, supporting advanced research into central nervous system development.
